Uses
FLASHING PRIMER is used to prepare acceptable substrates prior to the application of FLASHING TAPE FF and FLASHING TAPE.
The following substrates must be primed with FLASHING PRIMER prior to receiving FLASHING TAPE FF and FLASHING TAPE:
(Wood framing Note: Do not apply FLASHING TAPE FF on wood that has been treated in any way)
  1. PermaBase™ brand cement board (or other ASTM C1325 Type A Exterior approved cement boards)
  2. Poured concrete/unit masonry
  3. ASTM C1177 type sheathings, including e²XP™, GlasRoc®, DensGlass™, Securock™, Weather Defense™ Platinum and GreenGlass® sheathing
  4. Gypsum sheathing (ASTM C79/C1396)
  5. Untreated Exposure 1 or exterior plywood sheathing (Grade C-D or better)
  6. Untreated Exposure 1 OSB
   
Packaging Coverage
19-liter (5-gallon) pails;
3.8-liter (1-gallon) bottles, four bottles per carton
Coverage rates may vary depending on the texture, porosity of the existing substrate.
ASTM C1177 sheathings:
11.6–13.9 m² (125–150 ft²) per 3.8 L (1-gallon) bottle;
58–69.5 m² (625–750 ft²) per 19 L (5-gallon) bottle
  ASTM C79/C1396 sheathings:
14.9–17.7 m² (160–190 ft²) per 3.8 L (1-gallon) bottle;
74.5–88.5 m² (800–950 ft²) per 19 L (5-gallon) bottle
  Cement-board (ASTM C1325):
16.7–20.4 m² (180–220 ft²) per 3.8 L(1-gallon) bottle;
83.5–102 m² (900–1100 ft²) per 19 L (5-gallon) bottle
  Exterior plywood sheathing:
16.7–20.4 m² (180–220 ft²) per 3.8 L (1-gallon) bottle;
83.5–102 m² (900–1100 ft²) per 19 L (5-gallon) bottle
